IAAAM
is dedicated to educating
the youth by visiting elementary
and high schools, and organizing seminar tours of African-American
colleges and universities. This project was co-founded by
Sheila Eldridge, Dyana Williams, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis
in order to promote educational excellence using music industry
professionals.
In
2005 the IAAAM Literacy Lyric Project will again
tour public schools around the nation during the academic
school calendar year (winter/spring/fall 2005). Featuring
recording artists and prominent music industry executives,
the focus of the project is to encourage and motivate the
students to read while providing information about the music
industry. Support for the Literacy Lyric Project
is tremendous and participants have included Terrie Williams,
president of Terrie Williams Agency; producer Pete Rock;
songwriter/ producer Jeff Red; Bad Boy Entertainment CEO,
Sean "P. Diddy" Combs; Founder of IAAAM, Dyana
Williams; Cliff Brown, Esq. of Jackson, Brown, and Powell,
and two of the music industry's most prestigious musicians/
